Don't know much Scientology ...

Beck denies religion rumors; Korn gets to "bone ugly groupie chicks"; Kentucky Joe and Anna Nicole keep their pants on; and more!

Beck would like to make one thing perfectly clear. He is not now, nor has he ever been, a Scientologist.

Never mind that his bass player, Justin Johnson, reportedly told the U.K. press that he'd introduced Beck to the Church of Scientology and that he was "really into it." Johnson even apparently hinted that the singer had ended his relationship with Winona Ryder because of his affiliation with Scientology.

But according to Worldpop.com, Beck says all those rumors about him and Scientology are just a big crock.

So just Beck off, wouldja?

Korny thoughts

"It's what you make it, man. You can have anything you want. Any drug, all the free sex you want. I mean, it's not like a Mötley Crüe video or anything, but it's still around -- if you like boning ugly groupie chicks."

-- Korn's Jonathan Davis on the "sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll myth," in Maxim.

Kentucky Joe keeps his outback covered

Jerri Manthey and Amber What'shername from "Survivor" may be seriously considering posing for Playboy. But fellow bootee Rodger Bingham plans to keep his clothes on, thank you.

The 53-year-old Kentucky schoolteacher/all-around nice guy tells TV Guide that, even if Playgirl magazine did come callin' with the big bucks, he'd "pass on that one."

Which is not to say he wouldn't have minded being asked. "Boy, I was hoping they'd call, too."

Oh, and please don't go suggesting that anything untoward went on between him and fellow castaway Elisabeth Filarski, who called him her "Outback Daddy." (I mean really, people.)

"It was never, ever like that. It was like a father-daughter relationship," Rodger insists. "That's all it was. We got so close out there because she wanted to learn how to fish, so I taught her how. And I sort of took it upon myself to see that she didn't get hurt out there. We probably will be lifelong friends."

Richard Hatch he ain't.

In defense of nudity

"It worked for us, and I'm sure it'll work for Andrea and CNN."

-- "NYPD Blue" booty flasher Dennis Franz on how the newly unearthed naked photos of his erstwhile costar Andrea Thompson can only help her "CNN Headline News" ratings, in USA Today.

Anna Nicole pulls a Rodger

And while we're on the subject of who will and who will not pose nude for fame, cash and prizes, it looks like Anna Nicole Smith has crossed over to the other side.

Now that her dead husband's made her a wildly wealthy woman, the former stripper and Playboy Playmate has reportedly spurned a $1 million offer to display her sizable assets in a new British men's mag.

According to the New York Post, the merry widow's agent, David Granoff, was assured by the magazine that the photos "would be glamorous" and display the "natural beauty" (ahem) of Anna Nicole. But his client was unimpressed.

"No," Smith, who'll pose fully clothed for David LaChapelle for a spread in the June Vanity Fair, told Granoff. "Tell them WE don't do that anymore."

And THEY just stopped buying British men's magazines.
