"Every day, someone comes up to me and says, 'Because of Katie I got a colonoscopy,'" the "Today" co-host tells USA Weekend in next week's issue. "Kevin Kline just told me, 'Tell Katie I got it done.'" Faint heart never won fair lady." -- "U-571" star Bill Paxton, on his compulsion to commingle, in Maxim. - - - - - - - - - - - - Gwyneth's car trouble Has Gwyneth Paltrow been taking classes at the Halle Berry School of Driving or was she vying for a part in the new Woody Allen picture? Paltrow is being sued by two people, Veronica Cabello and Jorge Arauz, who claim she rammed a rental car into their car in Hollywood last April. "They were stopped and she rear-ended them," the couple's lawyer, James Earle, told the press this week. "They suffered $4,000 in damages to the car and $8,000 in medical damages." On the bright side, it's not every day you get to litigate with the stars. - - - - - - - - - - - - In an X-rated galaxy far, far away ... "It wasn't about how many men I had sex with -- it was a media event. It was just like 'The Phantom Menace,' which wasn't a very good film but generated a tremendous amount of interest. What people say about the film is more interesting than the film itself." -- Porn star Annabelle Chong on the making of her film about having sex with 251 guys in one day on (ahem) Virgin Net. (Well, actually, Chong admits, "only 80 men showed up, and out of them I think about two-thirds of them couldn't perform, so we just recycled the guys.") - - - - - - - - - - - - Father knows last It's a good thing Angelina Jolie, has the tongue-kissing support of her brother to fall back on. Her pops, actor Jon Voight, is apparently none too pleased with her penchant for plastering herself with tattoos, particularly the new "Billy Bob" tag she's sporting on her bicep. "I'm not crazy about anybody having tattoos," Voight recently told TV Guide online. "She somehow sort of sneaked into getting them. I've always said to her, 'Ang, what are you doing? You want to be able to play anybody. If you're covered with tattoos, that makes it harder.' She says, 'Dad, they'll just cover them up with makeup.' But I know that can be harder than it looks." But while father may know best -- he might not know most. Asked about his daughter's reported romance with Billy Bob Thornton, Voight confessed, "It seems like something is going on, but the media always knows more than a father." Would it were true. - - - - - - - - - - - - Juicy bits At least Matt Damon didn't break the news to Winona Ryder on "Oprah." The New York Daily News reports that, after two years of high-profile couplehood, the Hollywood duo has called it quits. The paper speculates that Damon's cheatin' heart had something to do with the split -- and that he may have taken up with Penelope Cruz, with whom he costars in "All the Pretty Horses." And I've heard rumors that the couple has feuded over money. But heck, we might as well blame the toothpaste cap ... It's looking like Pierce Brosnan's 16-year-old son, Sean, who was severely injured in a car crash last weekend, is going to be A-OK after all. Fears that Sean -- a passenger in a Chevy Blazer driven by his 19-year-old cousin -- would be paralyzed have been allayed, and Brosnan has expressed his "deepest thanks" to the doctors who saved his son from the "jaws of death." Woody Allen's up to his old secretive tricks again. Allen has reportedly sworn the cast of his latest film, "Small Time Crooks," to absolute secrecy about plot details. "I'm very, very wary of divulging the plot," said Tracey Ullman, who stars in the film with Hugh Grant, to the BBC. "If I do, a poison dart may wind up stuck in my leg at a bus stop." Oh, taxi? What took them so long? According to the Hollywood Reporter, development for a TV movie based on the life of Elián González is already underway at CBS. Cuban-born playwright Rafael Lima will write the story -- despite the fact that members of Elián's family in Miami have reportedly been shopping their story around. ĦQue sorpresa! It's one thing to be naked in London, quite another to be nudie patootie onstage on your own home turf. When the London production of "The Graduate" hits Broadway, Kathleen Turner (clothed or unclothed) won't be in it. According to the New York Daily News, Turner'll skip out on the New York production to star in a one-woman show about Tallulah Bankhead.
