I took the picture of the bootprint. But that was not
the first step on the Moon.
First I took a picture of the surface of the Moon; then I put my foot on
it. You see the same little grains [of Moondust] here and there-but at a
slightly different angle, because I had to move. Then I said to myself,
"Now wait a minute, that's a lonely-looking bootprint; let me take a
picture of the boot." So for the next picture I made a new bootprint, then
moved my foot an inch or two away -- so that you see a picture of my overshoe,
poised above the boot print.
That's kind of classic: the Moon before the footprint -- then the same spot on
the Moon, with the bootprint.
