SALON'S TV PICKS FOR
MONDAY, MARCH 1, 1999
BY JOYCE MILLMAN

S E R I E S

Answer: He's a guest on Suddenly Susan (8 p.m., NBC). Question: What ever happened to Rick Springfield? And on a related note, Corbin Bernsen, who was a big TV star in the '80s, shows up on 7th Heaven (8 p.m., WB) with his wife Amanda Pays; they play an unhappily married couple seeking counseling from Eric. On Dilbert (8 p.m., UPN), the hapless engineer is caught in a worker uprising while visiting a company sweatshop in a small foreign nation. Mel Brooks guests on Mad About You (8:30 p.m., NBC) in his occasional role as Paul's Uncle Phil, who wants to go back to high school to earn his diploma. Ray Romano pays a visit to The King of Queens (8:30 p.m., CBS) in an episode about a day off from work that's anything but relaxing. On Ally McBeal (9 p.m., Fox), Ally tells Greg about her indiscretion with Billy, but Billy wimps out (of course) on telling Georgia. Ray goes to extremes to get himself and Robert into a Baseball Hall of Fame event on Everybody Loves Raymond (9 p.m., CBS).

S P E C I A L S

A two-hour Dateline NBC (9 p.m., NBC) marks the 25th anniversary of People magazine with a joint "Dateline"-People look at headline-makers of the past 25 years. Poor Jane Pauley.
