SALON'S TV PICKS FOR
TUESDAY, JANUARY 5, 1999
BY JOYCE MILLMAN

S E R I E S

Bobby falls in love with an older girl (voice of Sarah Michelle Gellar) on a rerun of King of the Hill (8 p.m., Fox). And you can watch it this time around because "Buffy" is a rerun. On 3rd Rock from the Sun (8 p.m., NBC), the Big Giant Head orders Sally and Dick to swap bodies. Maya meets Elliott's odd brother (guest David Cross of "Mr. Show") on Just Shoot Me (9 p.m., NBC). American Justice (9 p.m. EST/10 PST, A&E) recalls the 1963 kidnapping of Frank Sinatra Jr. On a rerun of Felicity (9 p.m., WB), Noel forbids Miss Thing to talk about Ben, Miss Thing peeks at Elena's confidential financial aid file and Julie has a traumatic experience with Zack. On a new NYPD Blue (10 p.m., ABC), Kirkendall's son witnesses a murder in a convenience store; Russell and Sorenson team up to investigate. Drooling the drool of regret into the pillow of remorse, a chastened Keith Olbermann returns to sports after his long dark night of the soul on MSNBC's presidential semen beat. Tonight, Keith begins his new gig as anchor of the nightly Fox Sports News Prime Time (10 p.m., Fox Sports), and not a moment too soon.
