SALON'S TV PICKS FOR
THURSDAY, JULY 30, 1998
BY JOYCE MILLMAN

S P E C I A L S

Melissa Joan Hart (aka Sabrina the Teenage Witch) hosts America's Teenagers: Growing Up on Television (8 p.m., ABC), a 90-minute retrospective of how TV has portrayed adolescents over the years. Peter Jennings Reporting: The American Game (9:30 p.m., ABC) looks at Little League baseball. The Scoop: some adults push kids too hard. Duh.

S E R I E S

Fox Files (9 p.m., Fox) (place whooshing sound effect here) has a report on one Illinois family's battle with the neighbor from hell! Seinfeld (9 p.m., NBC) reruns the one where Elaine learns that Puddy is religious, George discovers the value of a good exit and Kramer acts out the symptoms of gonorrhea for medical students. A great episode. And just as funny the seventh time around. Greene goes home to deal with his ailing mother and emotionally distant father on a rerun of ER (10 p.m., NBC). 48 Hours (10 p.m., CBS) reports on issues involved in caring for the elderly. On the demented puppet show Super Adventure Team (10:30 p.m., MTV), the team springs into action when terrorists demand to meet KISS.
