As rumored, Jon Lovitz has been added to the cast of NBC's NewsRadio to fill the Phil Hartman void. No word yet on what his character will be ... The week of the July 4 holiday is traditionally one of TV's lowest-rated weeks. But this year set new Nielsen lows for the networks. ABC's ratings for July 4, which was a Saturday, barely registered: a 1.7 for the series Timecop and a 2.0 for the movie special Unstrung Heroes. In a nutshell, the Diane Keaton-directed drama was the lowest-rated movie on any network, including WB and UPN, in the history of the world. Next year, the networks ought to follow the lead of those local stations that televise a yule log burning on Christmas Eve: Just put on an endless loop of fireworks footage and go home.
