S E R I E S

If you're a latecomer to the story, the two-hour pilot episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (8 p.m., WB) may clear up some mysteries. A rerun of NewsRadio (8:30 p.m., NBC) is slated to air tonight, but there's no word on whether it will include a tribute to Phil Hartman. Frasier (9 p.m., NBC) repeats the episode where Frasier tries to negotiate a new contract without the help of his ruthless agent, Bebe. There are three reruns in a row of Behind the Music (beginning 9 p.m., VH1). Ozzy Osbourne, Meat Loaf and Keith Moon, respectively, are the subjects. NYPD Blue (10 p.m., ABC) reruns the best episode of last season, the "Lost Israel" two-parter, in which the cops suspect a belligerent father when a boy goes missing. Reruns of the final season of The Larry Sanders Show (11 p.m., HBO) continue with four episodes in a row.
