S P E C I A L S

For those of you who were working aboard a freighter in the North Atlantic last Thursday night, there's a "Seinfeld" finale encore (8 p.m., NBC). The extended episode will air until 9:12. Sonny & Me: Cher Remembers (8 p.m., CBS) is about the life and career of the late Sonny Bono. But most of all, it's about Cher. Julia Roberts journeys to Borneo to hang out with the orangutans on In the Wild (check local times, PBS). The two-hour retrospective CBS: The First 50 Years (9 p.m., CBS) unspools entertainment and news clips. Among those sharing memories: Alan Alda, Walter Cronkite, Ron Howard, Carol Burnett, Mary Tyler Moore and David Letterman. Barbara Walters: 6 to Watch (10 p.m., ABC) profiles Jenna Elfman, David Spade, Minnie Driver, Rupert Everett, Jon Bon Jovi and Kobe Bryant. Jon Bon Jovi?

S E R I E S

Acting teacher Lee Strasberg is the subject of a new Biography (8 p.m. EDT/9 PDT, A&E). Spin City (8 p.m., ABC) and Dharma and Greg (8:30 p.m., ABC) have their season finales. Anybody watch these shows? The season finale of 3rd Rock from the Sun (approximately 9:12 p.m., NBC) follows the "Seinfeld" encore. On the season-ending Drew Carey Show (9 p.m., ABC), Kate has second thoughts on her wedding day and Drew tangles with Daffy Duck. Law & Order (10 p.m., NBC) ends its season with McCoy, Briscoe, Van Buren, Schiff and Ross facing uncertain futures.
